A Status Yellow rain warning that had been in place for a number of counties in the south east has expired.

The warning for counties Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, Wicklow and Waterford came into effect at 5.25am and expired a number of hours later.

Met Éireann had warned of spells of heavy rain that could cause localised flooding, poor visibility and difficult travelling conditions.
