Status Yellow rain warnings have been issued for the south and east of the country for Friday and Saturday.
Met Éireann says counties Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, Wicklow, and Waterford can expect spells of heavy rain at times between 2pm on Friday until midnight.
The forecaster is warning of possible localised flooding and difficult travelling conditions.
Meanwhile, a separate Status Yellow rain warning is in place for counties Carlow, Dublin, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Louth, Meath, Offaly, Westmeath, Wexford, Wicklow, Cork, Tipperary, and Waterford on Saturday.
Met Éirean says the heaviest spells of rain can be expected in the east and southeast.
The alert comes into force from midnight on Saturday and will reamain in place until midnight on Sunday.

In Northern Ireland a Yellow rain warning has also been issued for Antrim and Down.
The UK Met Office says there is a small chance that heavy rain could lead to flooding and travel disruption between midnight on Saturday and 3am on Sunday morning.
