A woman in her 80s has died following a road traffic incident in Galway City yesterday.
The pedestrian was struck by a bus at 8.45pm on the Dublin Road, at Wellpark. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Her body was removed to University Hospital Galway, where a post-mortem examination will be arranged.
There were no other injuries reported.
Garda Forensic Collision Investigators carried out an examination of the scene, and the road has since been reopened.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident to contact them.
Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 8.30pm and 9pm last night are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaí.
