A Status Yellow rain warning is in effect for counties Donegal, Leitrim, and Sligo.
Met Éireann is warning of difficult travelling conditions with further heavy showers or longer spells of rain causing poor visibility.
It also says localised flooding is possible.
The warning came into effect at 5am and is valid until 5pm.
Meanwhile, a Status Yellow wind warning for counties Clare, Galway, Kerry and Mayo expired at 6am this morning.
