A man has died after getting into difficulty while swimming in Dún Laoghaire in Dublin earlier today.
The alarm was raised at 12.30pm this afternoon and the Coastguard responded at the scene.
It is understood there were high waves at the time of the incident.
While the man was rescued from the water he was pronounced dead later at St Vincent's Hospital.
