A cyclist has been killed following a road crash involving a car in Co Carlow.
The incident happened on the N80 at Kilmeany at around 11pm last night.
The cyclist, who was a man in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
His body was brought to Waterford University Hospital where a post-mortem examination will take place.
Gardaí said no one else was injured in the incident.
The road is closed between the Tinryland junction and the M9 for a technical examination.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses and ask anyone who was on the road between 10.45pm and 11.10pm last night and who may have camera footage, including dash-cam, to contact them.

It is the second fatal incident involving a cyclist in the past 24 hours.
