Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow thunderstorm warning for Cork, Kerry and Limerick for tomorrow morning.
The warning will come into effect at 9am and will last until 6pm.
The forecaster warned of lightning damage, power outages, localised flooding and difficult travelling conditions of possible impacts of the storm.
A yellow warning indicates weather that does not pose a threat to the general population but is potentially dangerous on a localised scale.
Heavy rainfall is forecast for much of the south and west of the country throughout the day tomorrow.
