A man has died in a workplace incident in Dundalk, Co Louth.
The incident occurred at a premises on the Armagh Road at Lisdoo at around 9.15am this morning.
The man, aged in his 40s, is understood to have been operating machinery at the time.
He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body has since been removed to the mortuary at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda.
A post-mortem examination will be carried out in due course.
Gardaí have also confirmed that a file will be prepared for the coroner's court.
The Health and Safety Authority has been made aware of the fatal incident and has launched its own investigation.
