Gardaí and customs officers have seized €1.6m worth of herbal cannabis in an operation in Co Wexford.
Officers seized approximately 80kg of herbal cannabis from a van which was intercepted yesterday in Ballycarney during a joint operation.
The drugs seized will be sent to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis.
A man in his 40s was arrested at the scene and is currently being detained at a garda station in the east of the country.
The operation was conducted by officers from the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau and Revenue.
Investigations are ongoing, gardaí said.
