A woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder as part of the investigation into the death of a man in 2009.

Steven O'Meara's body was discovered in a shallow grave in Ballydonnell Woods, Redcross, Co Wicklow.

Mr O'Meara, a 26-year-old father-of-three from Rosehill in Wicklow town, was last seen on 6 August 2009.

His body was found by gardaí in a shallow grave in Ballydonnell Woods five months later, on Christmas Eve. He had been shot.

A woman, aged in her 40s, was arrested today in relation to the investigation and is being held at a garda station in Co Wexford.

In 2012, Michael Dickenson, of no fixed abode and formerly of Darragh Park, Wicklow town, was sentenced to life in prison after being found guilty of Mr O'Meara's murder.

Another man has also been convicted of offences relating to the investigation.
