Cork-based specialised logistics company South Coast Logistics has announced expansion plans for a new operation in Dublin which will generate over 60 jobs.

Founded in 1975, the company serves a diverse range of industries including pharmaceuticals, petrochemicals, dry loads and the food sector.

At a meeting with Minister for Finance Paschal Donohoe in Fermoy, the company's Managing Director Richie O'Flynn said the Dublin Inland Port Terminal is a major step for the company.

"Not just for us, but for how Ireland moves materials," he said.

The company said the inland port terminal at Ballycoolin will be the first of its kind in Ireland and will operate as an Upper Tier Seveso site, regulated by the Health and Safety Authority.

The terminal will offer a range of services, including storage for over 220 laden and empty 20-foot shipping containers, tank container lifting, washing, heating, repair, maintenance, and logistical support, all within a single, integrated and regulated site.

The company said it is scheduled for 2026, and is expected to generate over 30 construction jobs, followed by between 60 and 80 permanent jobs over the next five years.
