Gardaí are investigating an arson attack on a house in Mullingar in Co Westmeath.
Emergency services were alerted to the fire at a house in Newtown Lawns shortly before 1am this morning.
Four people were in the house at the time and were brought to the Midland Regional Hospital in Mullingar for treatment of injuries that are not life threatening.
A technical examination of the scene was carried out.
Gardaí are asking anyone who was in the area between 12.15am and 1.15am to contact them.
They are also appealing for information on anyone with unexplained burns or who has presented for medical advice or treatment for burns since the early hours of this morning.
