A man is due in court this morning following an assault in Dublin city centre, in which one man received serious injuries.

The man in his 30s was arrested following a serious assault on the Rosie Hackett Bridge on Eden Quay on Monday afternoon.

He has since been charged and will appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice this morning.

A second man, in his 20s, has been arrested by gardaí as part of the investigation. He is currently being held at a garda station in the Dublin region.

The injured man was taken to the Mater Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
