Dublin city GP centre to remain open after tax issue resolved

A GP service in north inner city Dublin that said it faced closure this summer due to a change in the taxation system, now says it can continue to operate.

GP Care for All based in Summerhill says the long-running tax issue affecting the organisaiuon has been successfully resolved.

It thanked the HSE and the Department of Health for helping them find a workable solution to continue their services through the charitable model they use.

They also said they can now look at developing the model for other areas.

"With this issue now behind us our focus retrun to what matters most: providing high-quality, accesible primary care in the communities that are too often underserved," Minister for Finance and Fine Gael Dublin Central TD, Paschal Donohoe said.

"Talks between the parties regarding the proposed new financial structural model were agreed through much goodwill engagement and a determination on all sides to find a solution."

He said he and the Health Minister had worked closely with the HSE to alleviate the threat to the practise

"By all sides working together, and through the HSE giving an undertaking of support, both financial and in the form of additional staff, a way forward has been found."
