Man due in court over hijacking and series of thefts in Dublin and Wicklow

A man is due in court today in connection with a number of thefts and a hijacking in Dublin and Wicklow at the weekend.

On Saturday evening, a man approached a car at a commercial premises in Walkinstown, Dublin 12, and threatened the driver of the car, a woman in her 30s, who then had her car stolen by the man.

Later that evening, gardaí responded to reports of a robbery at a commercial premises in Bray.

A seperate robbery was reported to have taken place shortly after at a commercial premises in Rathnew, Co Wicklow.

Gardaí believed that the vehicle used during the two robberies was the car that had been stolen earlier.

A man in his 40s was arrested yesterday in connection with the investigation and has since been charged.

He is expected to appear before Tallaght District Court today.
