Man in critical condition amid ongoing garda probe in Louth

A garda investigation is continuing after a man was found with serious injuries in Dundalk, Co Louth last week.

The man, in his 50s, was discovered at a house in the Castletown Road area at around 3.30pm last Tuesday.

He was taken by ambulance to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda.

He was later transferred to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin, where he remains in a critical condition.

A technical examination of the scene has been carried out.

An Garda Síochána has said it is continuing to investigate all of the circumstances surrounding the matter.
