Gardaí have seized cash, drugs, cars and luxury goods estimated to be worth more than €235,000 in a series of searches targeting a criminal group in Co Limerick.

More than 100 gardaí, including the Garda Armed Support Unit, the Garda Dog Unit and the Emergency Response Unit took part in 17 searches at locations in Limerick city.

Gardaí said the searches were part of an ongoing investigation aimed at disrupting a criminal group that has been involved in an ongoing feud on the south side of Limerick city

Gardaí added that the feud has resulted in pipe bomb and arson attacks, the discharge of guns and drug dealing.

In a statement, gardaí said they seized "five vehicles, a significant amount in cash, a quantity of suspected cannabis, a number of high value watches and a significant amount of designer goods".

Several pairs of designer shoes were also seized

One boy was also arrested in connection with the seizure of drugs and has since being released pending referral to the Garda Youth Diversion Programme.

Gardaí said that the investigation remains ongoing.
