Eighth man appears in court over fatal Dublin stabbing

An eighth man has appeared in court today charged in connection with the violence in Dublin city centre last month during which one man was killed and another man seriously injured.

Thirty-four-year-old Quham Babatunde was stabbed to death during the unprovoked attack on the 15 February, a second man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Twenty-year-old Bruno Tache with an address at Trimleston, Balbriggan in Co Dublin has been charged with assaulting Quham Babatunde causing him harm, assaulting another person causing them harm and violent disorder with five other accused men.

Garda Jordan Kennedy gave evidence of arrest charge and caution and objected to bail.

Judge Paul Murphy granted Bruno Tache free legal aid and remanded him in custody to appear again by video link at Clover Hill District Court next week.

Seven others have already been charged and appeared in court in connection with the incident.

Nineteen-year-old Faraj Odukoya of Hamlet Lane, Balbriggan, Co Dublin is charged with assault causing harm to Mr Babatunde at Anne Street South and Adetola Adetuilehim at Duke Lane, as well as violent disorder.

Twenty-three-year-old Ryan Ndede of Boroimhe Birches, Swords, Co Dublin, was arrested by the PSNI in Belfast after boarding a ferry to England.

He was charged with Quham Babatunde's murder and held in custody after he appeared at Belfast Magistrate's Court on 21 February.

Twenty-one-year-old Rory Carr of Ard na Gréine, Seapoint Lane in Balbriggan, Co Dublin, was accused of assault causing harm to Mr Babatunde and Adetole Adetuilehim at Anne Street South, and violent disorder.

Twenty-one-year-old Jeffrey Bangu of Cardy Rock Crescent in Balbriggan, Co Dublin, was charged with assault causing harm to Mr Babatunde at Duke Lane and to Mr Adetuilehim at Anne Street South.

He also faces additional charges of violent disorder and the production of a knife during the incident.

Twenty-three-year-old Sean Forde with an address at Bath Road, Balbriggan, Co Dublin, was charged with violent disorder at Anne Street South.

Twenty-three-year-old John Eghomwanre from Dun Emer Glade, Lusk, Co Dublin, is accused of assault causing harm to Mr Babatunde on Anne Street South and to Mr Adetuilehim at Duke Lane, as well as violent disorder.

Twenty-five-year-old Bakuani Diavisi of Cardy Rock, Balbriggan, Co Dublin, was charged with assault causing harm to another named male at Dawson Street, Dublin 2.
