Two men have been seriously injured in two separate incidents in Dublin and Cork.

A man aged in his 20s was brought to the Mater Hospital in Dublin following an assault on Henry Street at around 1pm.

The man's injuries are believed to be serious but non life-threatening.

Gardaí said investigations are ongoing after an examination of the scene took place.

Separately, in Cork, gardaí said a man in his 30s was brought to hospital with serious but non life-threatening injuries following an assault in the city.

The incident happened on Wellington Road at around 11.40am this morning.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the incident to come forward.

They are also asking for anyone who may have camera footage, including dashcam, and were travelling in the area between 11am and 12pm to make it available to them.
