A fifth man has appeared in court today charged in connection with the violence in Dublin city centre earlier this month during which a 34-year-old man was killed and another man was injured.
Quham Babatunde was stabbed to death during the unprovoked attack and a second man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Bakuani Diasivi, 25, of Cardy Rock Crescent in Balbriggan, appeared before Dublin District Court charged with assaulting a man causing him harm on Dawson Street on 15 February.
Garda Ciara Tyrell from Pearse Street Garda Station gave evidence of arrest, charge and caution.
She told the court that she arrested Mr Diasivi just before midnight last night and when he was charged with the offence he made no reply.
He was granted free legal aid after the court was told he was unemployed.
There was no application for bail after gardaí had said there would be an objection and Mr Diasivi was remanded in custody to appear again at Cloverhill District Court on 4 March.
Ryan Ndede, 23, of Boroimhe Birches, Swords, in Dublin has been charged with the murder of Mr Babatunde and was remanded in custody by a court in Belfast.
Sean Forde, 23, of Bath Road in Balbriggan was yesterday charged with violent disorder on South Anne Street on 15 February.
Rory Carr, 21, from Ard Na Greine in Seapoint Lane in Balbriggan and 21-year-old Jeffrey Bangu, from Cardy Rock Crescent in Balbriggan, have both already been charged with violent disorder and assaulting the two victims causing them harm.
