A road in Co Wexford was temporarily closed earlier following the discovery of a "suspect device" at a house, said gardaí.
Gardaí and the army's Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit attended the scene in Enniscorthy.
The device has since been made safe and the road has reopened.
"A cordon was put in place," An Garda Síochána said in a statement.
"The Irish Defence Forces Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit attended and the device was made safe."
It is understood the device was historical in nature.
