Two men have been arrested as part of an ongoing garda investigation into organised crime in Drogheda, Co Louth and surrounding areas.

Nine addresses were searched during the search and the men, both in their 20s, were arrested.

They are both currently detained under the provisions of Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act, 2007 at stations in the Garda North Western Region.

Gardaí attached to the Divisional Drug Unit were assisted by the Drogheda, Dundalk and Ardee Detective Units, the Armed Response Unit and the Emergency Response Unit.
