Two women charged over €1.28m cannabis seizure at Shannon Airport

Two women have been charged in connection with the seizure of cannabis worth around €1.28m at Shannon Airport yesterday.

The women, aged in their 20s and 40s, are are expected to appear before Limerick District Court at 7pm this evening.

The cannabis weighed around 64kg and was discovered in baggage that was on a flight that arrived from the United States.

Gardaí have said investigations are ongoing.
