A pedestrian has died after he was struck by a bus in Newry, Co Down.
Police said the man, in his 30s, died at the scene in the Mall area of the city yesterday afternoon.
Inspector Cherith Adair appealed to anyone with information or footage to speak to police.
"At around 4.30pm, it was reported that a bus was involved in the incident. The male, who was a pedestrian, sadly died at the scene as a result of his injuries," she said.
Newry City Sinn Féin Councillor Aidan Mathers extended his deepest sympathies to the family and friends of the deceased.
"This is tragic news and I extend my sympathy to the family and friends of the deceased," the local councillor said in a statement.
This is a tragedy which will be deeply felt within the local community who I know will now rally round the family at this difficult time," Mr Mathers added.
