How it started ...
The final count in the Longford-Westmeath constituency came in just before 3.30am on Monday.
The five newly elected TDs are Fine Gael's Peter Burke, Sinn Féin's Sorca Clarke, Independent Kevin 'Boxer' Moran, Fianna Fáil's Robert Troy and Fine Gael's Micheál Carrigy.
Mr Burke was elected on the first count on Saturday evening, getting 10,864 first preferences.
It took more than 24 hours to elect the second TD when Ms Clarke was elected on the thirteenth count.
Mr Moran won the third seat, reaching the quota on the fourteenth count.
After he was hoisted in the air by supporters, he declared "we're back, we won, Athlone has a TD".
Although Westmeath had three TDs in the last Dáil, all of them were based in the Mullingar side of the constituency.
Mr Troy took the fourth seat while Mr Carrigy took the final seat.
Mr Carrigy, from Ballinalee in Co Longford, is a first-time TD.
For Fianna Fáil, it is a disappointing result.
The party held two seats in this constituency, but Joe Flaherty lost out this time at the expense of Fine Gael's Carrigy.
