A teenage boy has been rescued after a "complex" rescue operation in Co Kerry, the Valentia Coast Guard has said.
The teenager fell yesterday while on a path on an Chonair located on Corca Dhuibhne and became separated from two others.
The coast guard said an emergency call was placed at around 4.45pm.
It said that the Dingle Coast Guard and Rescue R115 were dispatched to the scene but the helicopter was unable to help the operation due to a "low cloud base".
Rescue R115 left the scene and subsequently brought a team from Kerry Mountain Rescue back to the area to assist the "precarious situation", the Valentia Coast Guard said.
However, it added, due to "deteriorating weather" conditions it was forced to leave again.
The coast guard said that at around 9.40pm, the rescue helicopter returned.
The boy was stretchered a distance of more than 200 metres to the top of the ravine by members of the Dingle Coastguard Unit, and the helicopter was able to extract him at approximately 10.50pm.
He was brought to Kerry University Hospital for treatment.
