The luxury cruise liner which had been anchored in Belfast Lough days after it was expected to set off on a round the world cruise, has finally sailed into open waters.
The Villa Vie Odyssey finally set sail this afternoon, after several days resting at anchor at the mouth of the lough.
Passengers who has paid big money for luxury apartments on board were told they could not leave until some last minute paperwork was filed.
It is understood the liner is heading to France and then into the Atlantic.
The ship, which had been brought to Belfast for a refit, was scheduled to leave with paying passengers on board back in May.
But a delay meant a four month layover in the city for around 125 passengers.
They had been staying in hotels while they waited for the work to finish.
Those on board have paid large sums either for lengthy cruises, or in some cases to live permanently on board.
