A woman in her 80s has died after being struck by a lorry in Co Donegal.
The incident happened shortly after 2pm on Church Street in St Johnston.
Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene, where the woman was pronounced dead a short time later.
The lorry driver was uninjured.
The coroner has been notified and the woman's body will be taken to the mortuary at Letterkenny University Hospital where a post-mortem examination will be conducted.
The road is closed to allow for a forensic examination and local diversions are in place. Gardaí said that the Health and Safety Authority (HSA) has also been notified.
In a statement, the HSA said it was aware of the incident and was making enquiries into the circumstances.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the collision, including those with camera or dash-cam footage to come forward.
