Gardaí will prepare a file for the Director of Public Prosecutions after the driver of a car which crashed in Co Cork in the early hours ofyesterday morning was released without charge.
40-year old man Finbarr Coleman, from Innishannon, who was a passenger in the car, died in the crash.
He was arrested on suspicion of committing offences under the Road Traffic Act and was questioned by gardaí throughout the day yesterday.
Investigating gardaí said this morning that a file will now be prepared on the man's case for the DPP.
Separately, a post-mortem examination will be conducted at Cork University Hospital later today by State Pathologist Dr Heidi Okkers, on the body of Mr Coleman, who was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
The results of that post-mortem examination will be sent to the garda investigation team.
Mr Coleman was one of a number of passengers in the car which appears to have gone out of control and hit a ditch at around 1.30am yesterday morning.
No other vehicle was involved and no other serious injuries were reported.
The road at Ballynamona has reopened, following completion of a technical examination there by garda forensic collision investigators.
Gardaí say they are continuing to appeal for witnesses to the crash or road users who were travelling in the area between 1.15am and 1.45am and who may have camera or dashcam footage to contact them at Bandon Garda Station.
