An investigation is under way after a man was injured during a shooting incident in Co Wicklow earlier this week.

A firearm is believed to have been discharged after two men travelling in a car were blocked in by another vehicle at around 10pm on Tuesday in Ballinahinch in Roundwood.

One of the men travelling in the car, who is aged in his 20s, was injured in the incident and was treated in hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses, particularly anyone who observed the movements of a silver Mercedes Benz that travelled from Roundwood onto Newtownmountkennedy and then northbound on the N11 into the Dublin 4 area between 10pm and 11pm on Tuesday.
