The death of a man at a garda station in Co Donegal has been referred to the Garda Síochána Ombudsman Commission.
The man was found unresponsive in his cell and assistance was called for.
However, despite receiving medical attention, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
A spokesperson for the Garda Press Office said: "As per Garda policy, this matter has been referred to the Garda Síochána Ombudsman Commission (GSOC) under Section 102 of the Garda Síochána Act, 2005."
