Gardaí are investigating the circumstances of an incident in Co Wicklow during which builders renovating a hotel were shouted at and told to leave the site.
The Department of Integration confirmed the site is not for International Protection applicants.
Footage on social media shows the builder being told to "get out with your f***ing crew", as a group of around 30 men and women shouted "out out" at him.
The incident took place in Aughrim yesterday afternoon.
One individual shouted at the builder, who is from Wexford, to pack his "f***ing tools up" and to "get out" or he would "pack his f***ing tools up".
The builder received a round of applause when he said he would leave shortly.
Gardaí were called to the scene and have confirmed that the site is not earmarked or being prepared for International Protection applicants.
A Garda spokesman said they were investigating the entirety of the event.
Garda Commissioner Drew Harris has said people have a right to go to work and to go about their lawful business without interruption or being intimidated.
The Government has condemned attacks on and the intimidation of workers.
