Around one hundred people are attending a protest in support of Gaza outside the US Embassy in Dublin.
The rally has been organised by Irish Healthcare Workers for Palestine and Mothers Against Genocide.
It is calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and for the US government to end its support for the Israeli attacks on Gaza.
Dr Angie Skuce read out a letter to the assembled protesters from two US trauma surgeons who volunteered in Gaza.
"As humanitarian surgeons, we thought we had seen all manner of cruelty in the world. But neither one of us has ever experienced anything like what we found when we arrived in Gaza."
The letter went on to detail the some of the horrors witnessed by the doctors."We walked through the wards and immediately found evidence of horrifying violence deliberately directed at civilians and even children.
"A three-year-old girl shot in the head, a 12-year-old girl shot through the chest, an ICU nurse shot through the abdomen. All by some of the best trained marksman in the world."
