Irish Rail has announced a number of of extra services to help gig-goers make it to and from the raft of big concerts over the coming months.

Bruce Springsteen, P!NK and Taylor Swift are among the global stars gracing these shores, playing in venues including Croke Park, Nowlan Park and Páirc Uí Chaoimh during May and June.

An additional service will run from Waterford to Kilkenny at 1.30pm on Sunday 12 May, with an extra return service at 11.30pm that night, to coincide with the Bruce Springsteen concert in Nowlan Park.

There will be an extra service from Dublin Heuston to Cork with a connection to Limerick at 12.40am on the morning of Monday 20th May, following Springsteen's Croke Park gig on Sunday 19 May.

An extra late-night service from Dublin Heuston to Cork will also run at the same time following the P!NK gigs at the Aviva Stadium on Thursday 20 and Friday 21 June.

This service will also be in operation following the three Taylor Swift concerts at the Aviva on Friday 28, Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 June.

InterCity Customers must book online. The same applies to those using the additional late night services, with Irish Rail warning that there will be no tickets "for customers who show up at the station".

Passengers are also urged to turn up early, given the high demand, "to allow for the appropriate amount of time to collect tickets and board the service".

Free Travel Pass holders are advised that they can only use the pass "on all regular timetable services".

Rod Stewart and Bord Bia Bloom are also getting extra services.

Details of the updated timetable can be found on the Irish Rail website.
