A truck-driver has been killed in a single-vehicle crash which happened in Co Wexford this morning.
The driver of the articulated lorry died when the truck overturned on the N30 near Clonroche at about 10.15am.
He was aged in his 40s and is understood to have been a driver with a haulage company who was carrying a consignment of electrical goods at the time of the incident.
The road was closed immediately after the crash and remained closed for a number of hours to allow forensic collision investigators carry out an examination of the scene.
This is the second fatal single-vehicle crash on the island of Ireland today, after four people died in Co Armagh this morning.
Gardaí remain at the scene this afternoon and have appealed for any witnesses to the collision to come forward, and anyone with dash-cam or phone footage from the area, on the N30 at Clonroche between 10am and 10.30am, to make it available to gardaí.
The investigation into the crash is being led by gardaí based in Enniscorthy and anyone with information has been asked to contact the garda station on 0539242580 or any garda station.
