A man has died in a two-car collision, which occurred on the M4 near Kilcock in Co Kildare, last night.
The driver of one of the cars, who was in his late 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision, which occurred at around 11pm at Junction 8 on the westbound carriageway.
No other injuries were reported.
The road remains closed and local diversions are in place.
Gardaí are appealing to any witnesses, particularly any road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam, to contact Leixlip Garda Station at 01 666 7800, the Garda Confidential Line at 1800 666 111, or any garda station.
