Gardaí are carrying out enquiries into the actions of a number of people present at a protest in Co Kildare last night after garda members were targeted with fireworks.
Gardaí said that unarmed, uniformed officers attended the planned demonstration at a location in Celbridge yesterday evening.
During the course of the protest, garda members were verbally abused and fireworks and other missiles were thrown in their direction.
No injuries were sustained during the incident, a garda spokesperson said.
