A man who died following a traffic collision in Ballina, Co Mayo, has been named locally as James Moyles.

The 33-year-old sustained critical injuries when he was struck by a car on Lord Edward Street, shortly before 6.30pm on Tuesday.

He was taken to Mayo University Hospital for treatment, but died there yesterday evening.
