A historical device has been discovered in Clontarf, Dublin.

Gardaí and the Army Bomb Disposal Unit attended the scene in the St John's Wood area.

The Clontarf Castle Hotel was evacuated due to the incident.

ISME, which was hosting a 30-year anniversary lunch for around 300 guests in the hotel, had to abandon its event.
