The Department of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that it is aware of the case of missing 28-year-old Irishman, Ryan Cooney and is providing consular assistance.
Mr Cooney was last seen in Tenerife on Wednesday.
The National Missing Persons Helpline Ireland shared an urgent request for information about his whereabouts on social media.
Ryan is described as 5 foot 11, with dark hair, is normally clean shaven but might have stubble now.
In the post, the charity says "Hospitals and Police in Tenerife have been notified and the police also have his passport, the family are receiving assistance from the Irish embassy in Madrid.
Anyone who may have information which may assist in finding Ryan is asked to contact Police on +34 922 78 99 50."
