One business in Co Louth has so far applied for the emergency flooding assistance scheme.
The scheme is open to small businesses around the country who were affected by flooding in recent weeks, up until 5 November, and who, through no fault of their own, have been unable to secure flooding insurance.
The Red Cross has confirmed that as of this afternoon, one application from a business in Co Louth had been received so far.
However it said that informal briefing meetings with the business community in the area had taken place and it expected further applications in the coming days.
The organisation thanked local representatives in the county for their work engaging with businesses on this.
