Met Éireann has warned that heavy rain could cause flooding, difficult travel conditions and disruption to outdoor events.
A separate rain warning is currently in effect for Antrim and Down.
The UK Met Office said the warning will be in effect until 6pm.
Meanwhile, swimmers are being warned that high tides will be higher this weekend due to a full moon tonight.
Water Safety Ireland said that the full moon could cause possible flooding, rip currents and cooler waters.
It is also urging the public to stay away from edges of the coastline due to the possibility of being stranded by incoming tides.
Water Safety Ireland said members of the public "should always wear a lifejacket when on or near water and ensure that it has a correctly fitted crotch strap" and carry a fully charged mobile phone.
Anyone who gets into difficulty should call 999 or 112 and ask for the Coast Guard.
