Broadcaster Rónán Mac Aodha Bhuí was laid to rest today in his native county of Donegal.
Requiem Mass was celebrated by Fr Brian Ó Fearraigh in the local church in 'Na Doirí Beaga' in the heart of the Donegal Gaeltacht.
The event was streamed live on the RTÉ Raidio na Gaeltachta Facebook page, a station where Rónán spent many years as a prolific and distinguished broadcaster.
The parish priest said he could sum up Rónán in one simple word 'Loyalty'; loyalty to his family, his friends, his profession and his principles.
Fr Brian Ó Fearraigh said: "Rónán was well known and respected among his community and listenership.
"But an entire community and listenership were enriched by his powers of communication and great ability to inspire both young and old."
He also referred to how Rónán "could harness the power of radio in a very positive way which had a strong and abiding influence on an individual or community".
Ronan Mac Aodha Bhuí died on Tuesday at the age of 53.
He had been ill for some time.
He is survived by his wife Bernie and daughter Fionnuala.
