Gardaí in Limerick have launched an investigation following the discovery of a woman's body today.
The woman, aged in her early 50s, was found in Newcastle West, in the Templegreen area of the town.
The office of the State Pathologist has been notified and the scene has been preserved for a technical examination.
Gardaí said that the results of a post-mortem examination will determine the course of their investigation.
