A Status Yellow wind warning that was in place for coastal areas of Galway, Mayo and the off-shore islands has expired.
Met Éireann had warned it would become increasingly windy generally with widespread showers, some heavy, and with isolated thunderstorms possible.
The warning expired at 9pm.
Separately, the UK Met Office has issued a Yellow Thunderstorm warning for Antrim, Armagh, Down, Fermanagh, Tyrone and Derry.
It said heavy showers and thunderstorms may lead to some flooding and disruption.
