A union representing workers at a medical technology firm in Drogheda have met management over potential job losses.
BD currently employs around 235 workers at it's Drogheda site.
SIPTU said that the company has announced it intends to implement up to 60 job losses.
Organiser Robbie Purfield said members were "extremely disappointed and concerned" by the announcement.
He said that union representatives have made a number of suggestions to minimise the number of job losses.
"We are also seeking further clarity on information from management concerning its plans so we can formulate further proposals aimed at protecting jobs at the company," he said.
Mr Purfield said that all it’s members have been briefed and the trade union intends to hold further meetings with members this week and with managment again next week.
