A thunderstorm warning for Connacht and Cavan has passed.
The Status Yellow thunderstorm warning was in place until 11.30pm.
Earlier, the forecaster said: "Localised thunderstorms will continue for a few more hours, bringing frequent lightning, heavy downpours, gusty winds and a chance of hail."
It also warned of the possibility of localised flooding and difficult driving conditions.
While there will be some hazy sunny spells, tomorrow will be a cloudier day overall with showery outbreaks of rain in the south extending to most parts during the day.
The showers will be heavy at times and isolated thunderstorms are possible.
Tomorrow will see highest temperatures of 19 to 25 degrees generally, warmest in Ulster and north Leinster, in moderate to occasionally fresh southeasterly winds.
