Former RTÉ continuity announcer Margaret Turley (née O'Brien) has died at the age of 83.
She began her career with RTÉ Radio in the early 1960s and was the continuity announcer on the night that RTÉ Television aired for the first time.
She went on to become RTÉ Radio's Assistant Head of Presentation.
Her family have described her as "a born broadcaster" and said she "worked with Eamon Andrews and Terry Wogan and indeed trained in a young Pat Kenny when he joined".

Mrs Turley was a fluent Irish speaker and worked in the Royal Irish Academy as an examiner for more than 60 years.
She was also an actress in both the Abbey Theatre and the Damer Theatre in Dublin.
She passed away peacefully yesterday, surrounded by her family.
Her funeral mass will be held in Dalkey Church, Dublin on Wednesday morning.
