A man in his 20s has died following a collision involving a car and a lorry in Co Cavan this evening.
He was the sole occupant of the car, which collided with the lorry shortly before 5pm on the N3 at New Inn near Ballyjamesduff.
Nobody else was injured in the incident.
The road is expected to remain closed overnight, with diversions in place.
Garda forensic investigators are due to carry out an inspection at the scene.
Gardaí have appealed to anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or who may have dashcam footage, to contact them at Bailieboro Garda Station on 042 9694570, or any garda station.
In Co Derry, a motorcyclist has died after his bike crashed on the Lisnamuck Road in Tobermore.
Police said they received a report of the crash shortly after 5pm today.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
