Thousands took part in 'The March for Life' in Dublin City Centre this afternoon, which was organised by the Pro-Life Campaign.

Organisers said that this year's march was being held in response to what they described as "extreme recommendations" in an independent review of the State's abortion law which was published last week.

Those taking part walked from St Stephen's Green to Molesworth Street where speakers addressed them from a stage in front of Leinster House.

Pro Life Campaign spokesperson, Eilís Mulroy described the Independent Review report as "one-sided" and said that "abortion is now guaranteed to be an election issue".

Aontú Leader and Meath West TD Peadar Tobín and Dr Kirsten Fuller, a GP in Clonmel, Co Tipperary were among the speakers.
